About the role
We are looking for an experienced HBM (Horizontal Boring Machine) Operator with hands-on experience operating and setting up HBM machines with Siemens CNC control.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and set up Horizontal Boring Machines (HBM) with Siemens CNC control
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining drawings, and technical specifications
- Perform boring, milling, drilling, facing, and other machining operations as required
- Set machine parameters, work offsets, tool offsets, and cutting speeds as per job requirements
- Understand and operate Siemens CNC programs; make program corrections and adjustments when required
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining methods
- Check component dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges
- Ensure machining accuracy and maintain required quality standards
- Perform basic machine troubleshooting and routine maintenance
- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness at the workplace
- Coordinate with the production and quality teams to meet production targets
What we are looking for
- ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in HBM machining
- Practical experience with Siemens control is mandatory
- Manufacturing or heavy engineering industry experience preferred
- The candidate should have strong knowledge of machining operations, engineering drawings, tooling, and precision machining of heavy engineering components
